About Mrs. Dwyer
Born and raised in Canada, I completed my undergraduate work there, too. I graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland with a Bachelor's degree in Primary & Elementary Education, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in English Language & Literature.
I began my career in mid-city Los Angeles in 2003, when I was recruited to teach a Special Day Program at Arlington Heights Elementary. I was asked to take over the Resource Specialist Program there in 2006, and I worked in that position until 2013. I then transferred to Vintage STEM Magnet in North Hills, where I worked as an RST for almost five years.
Currently, I hold a Professional Clear Multiple Subject Credential; a Clear Level II Education Specialist Credential in Mild/Moderate Disabilities (with additional authorization to teach both English Learners and students with Autism Spectrum Disorders); and a Master's degree in Mild/Moderate Disabilities from California State University, Northridge.
My life revolves around children! I have been working with them since high school, when one of my teachers insisted I job shadow an elementary school teacher, and my daughter will be a 6th grader this year. I'm so happy to be part of the Haynes community, and I look forward to working with you and your children!
